I just scrolled and saw that I was lucky and didn't get duped into sending any money to these scammers. But, I was given an address of 234 W Main Street suite 101 in New York 10088 as the address for R&L. I found an address on the Internet in New York that happens to be near the 234 W Main address and I was just about to compose a letter professing my innocence. But why waste a 42 cent stamp? Next time I go to New York, I'll make it a point to knock on the door of every R&L office listed with BBB. So, my advice to R&L .......you'd better be afraid...........BE VERY AFRAID !!!!!!! I don't scare easily and if you value your business, you'll find the scammers before I find you. No threat..............I promise you, you'll regret allowing [***] to use your name to frighten people into paying real/unreal debts !!!
WOW! I have been in contact with Julie Flowers for about a year now and I have made a couple of payments to her from my bank account already. Then about a month ago she called and said they went to court and I was found guilty of fraud and writing bad checks and conspiracy and so forth. She said I now owe about 1500.00 for each check which there was 3 i guess and then some other charges. She also said that a bench warrant would be issued for my arrest unless I made a payment that night for 100.00, which I did. Now I still have to make one more payment of 105.00 by the end of March so that my case will be closed. The contact numbers that I had for Julie Flowers no longer work and I dont know what to do.
I get a call almost daily from 866-628-9356 and when I return the call, I get Kenneth Phillips voice mail. I left a few messages and no return callback. I called again and a guy called himself John Jacobs (at Kenneth Phillips extension) he repeatedly put me on hold. When he returned to the phone, he quoted my SSN and asked if I knew the names of 2 of my personal friends. Then this "John Jacobs" tells me that IN 2009 I opened an online payday loan for $525 (which has now grown to $1460). I NEVER OPENED AN ACCOUNT and if it was online, then R&L should investigate the IP address and track down the culprit. If R&L tries to sue me for money that I didn't get ....... I'll go to my grave making sure that they get sued for this !!!!!!!!!!

I've gotten a call from the company and they left a message threatening to prosecute me for "defrauding a financial institution" and passing a 'fraudulent document across state lines'. I've notified them by registered mail (with a copy to the Missouri Attorney General). Since i beleive rights under the FDCPA have been violated, I will be filing a lawsuit against this debt collector.
There are very good information about debt collector/fair and unfair practices at about.com credit/debt management.
