We received a call from this number and the caller identified himself as James Capra with the DEA. After google searching the number it shows a new york area code. So... then I google searched James Capra from New York. Guess what? There IS a James Capra in the DEA, but he only originated from New York. He is actually in the DALLAS division of the DEA. Nice try, scam guy. I called the Dallas division (after all the website came right up) and reported this. The officer I spoke with said they had just been issued this warning and that I was the first caller. This scam artist clearly received my contact information from a website where I ordered prescription drugs online YEARS AGO. I have no problem whatsoever revealing that information now and hope I can help lock up this scam artist. Unbelievable, truly. The DEA dallas division (where the REAL James Capra works) phone number is (214) 366-6900... report this! Also, the officer I spoke with gave me another number to report the scam nationwide. That number is 877-792-2973. Report this now to both numbers, and let's get these folks before it's too late.
they called and called me threatening me with my job, say they are from the DEA and I am being charged with trafficing! when i call they answer the phone saying drug enforcement
They did the same thing with me. Said they are from the DEA and that I am being charged and that if I don't agree to pay them between $2,500 to $20,000 that they are going to get a warrant for my arrest in the next 45 minutes and come and pick me up. Said their names were Agent Rivera and Mark Skefway but wouldn't give a badge # or any other information. HELP!!

DEA Warns Public of Extortion Scam by
DEA Special Agent Impersonators
The Drug Enforcement Administration is warning the public about criminals posing as DEA special agents or other law enforcement personnel as part of an international extortion scheme.
The criminals call the victims (who in most cases previously purchased drugs over the lnternet or by telephone) and identify themselves as DEA agents or law enforcement officials from other agencies. The impersonators inform their victims that purchasing drugs over the lnternet or by telephone is illegal, and that enforcement action will be taken against them unless they pay a fine. In most cases, the impersonators instruct their victims to pay the "fine" via wire transfer to a designated location, usually overseas. If victims refuse to send money, the impersonators often threaten to arrest them or search their property. Some victims who purchased their drugs using a credit card also reported fraudulent use of their credit cards.
Impersonating a federal agent is a violation of federal law. The public should be aware that no DEA agent will ever contact members of the public by telephone to demand money or any other form of payment.
The DEA reminds the public to use caution when purchasing controlled substance pharmaceuticals by telephone or through the Internet. It is illegal to purchase controlled substance pharmaceuticals online or by telephone unless very stringent requirements are met. And, all pharmacies that dispense controlled substance pharmaceuticals by means of the lnternet must be registered with DEA. By ordering any pharmaceutical medications online or by telephone from unknown entities, members of the public risk receiving unsafe, counterfeit, and/or ineffective drugs from criminals who operate outside the law. In addition, personal and financial information could be compromised.
Anyone receiving a telephone call from a person purporting to be a DEA special agent or other law enforcement official seeking money should refuse the demand and report the threat.
Got a call tonight from the "DEA", stating that they are going to show up at my work in the morning to arrest me if I don't do what they want- give them money, of course. When I called them back to verify their name and pertinent info- all of a sudden, the agent's name changed. Agent John Rivera, aka Williams Rivers, could not get his information straight. Looks like if you've ever ordered from an online pharmacy, they have your information. Don't give these guys the time of day.
