This man (Danny Morrison) has an indian accent and claimed that I was going to be arrested because I owed money on my 2012 taxes. When I questioned when the IRS connected me he became very short and annoyed that I would question him. I asked for a number to contact the IRS and he said " I can't contact them they wont talk to me" After several more minutes on the phone with this man he said that I owed 4,989.23 because of the high interest rate and that I needed to hire a criminal attorney because it involved my federal taxes. Then asked if I had any questions, I said yes tons of questions but he wouldn't be able to answer them for me, he said yes I can what are your questions When I again questioned how annoyed I was that the IRS never contacted me and that I should have received a certified letter which I never signed for he yelled" look this is what the paper says and I guess there isn't anything else to say and hung up on me. Not once did he ask for my social or if I wanted to handle this matter by paying the money owed. I have heard of these scams in the past so I wasn't going to provide any personal information anyway but I thought that it was possible that this was real because he didn't ask for money. After speaking with my CPA, friends, and family, as well as this site I am able to sleep knowing that I wont be arrested come morning. I even called him back and told him that I know this is a scam and asked what type of person calls others lying trying to steal their money and told him he needs to get a real job then hung up on him.
Got the same thing today. Called them back and they said legal issue. I told them I a was an attorney, and then he wanted my bar number, then started asking if I was messing with him.... I just hung up.
** SCAM ** Arabic Female, claiming to be IRS agent called and spoke to my significant other. Demanded immediate payment of $4900 and claimed LEIN placed on residence. threatened arrest and more..... I called the number back (347-305-5144). Line had static and the female was hard to hear / understand. I did hear her say she was with IRS. ***After her intro she immediately went into arabic prayer and/or chant. This parayer/chant lasted for a little over a minute then complete silence. I waited for a few, in silence. i then said hello. i heard static on line and a faint voice saying something about IRS. it was silent there after until i hung up.
