I got the same email today after submitting my resume for and administrative position on craigslist.com. I am assuming it is a scam, since i did not apply for any "work from home" positions.. I googled the company, which is legit, but the address in the email does not correctly match that of the actual company. Also, Sharon Butler, does not come up in any google search of the company, MediaPost. Let me know if you figure anything out..
The current job market, or lack of much of one, benefits legitimate employers but unfortunately benefits scam artists as well. After almost 2 years of unemployment, formerly making $27.00 an hour, I took a postion with a retail company and it started at $12.00 per hour. The starting pay for the same job I have, started at $10.00 to $12.00 an hour then, now starts at $8.75 per hour with no exceptions....supply of job-hunters exceeds demand of employers.
With my current pay I was very excited to get the email until I read it 3 times, felt uneasy about it, Googled the company and there was not an exact match....wrong physical address and the web link of the company supposedly hiring did not match that of the legit co. Even in this economy, when you are willing to give anything a try, if it sounds to be too good to be true...it probably is not true...aka, false/scam
