Recieved a call say they were representing Microsoft licensing and that my computer ID was being used. They wanted me to go on my computer right away and check my alpha numeric number. The callers name was Sonia and had an accent. When I told her I thought her call was a scam she proceeded to tell me that if I did not go on my computer right away with her it would be shut down. I told her to shut it down and hung up on her. The phone number used was 1-347-332-0595.
Received a call from 347-332-0595 claiming to be a Washington DC Cyber Officer. He explained that someone was using my Computer as a remote Bot to attack other things. Wanted to have me allow him to take control of my PC remotely. I told him I couldn;t log in because someone else controled my PC and changed my PIN. I was then treated to a barrage of expletives for almost 2 minutes non stop. I haven't had such a good comedy routine in along time.
received a call from an obviously accented person of middle eastern descent claiming to be a cyber officer. Same story, gave me a phony code and claimed that people from korea, china, europe and ukraine have accessed my computer remotely. i threatened to call the FBI, FCC, FAA and any other initials i could think of and received the reply
' yo" then i hung up.
Received 4 continuous calls at 8 am Jan 8, 2015 from a gentleman of middle eastern decent (India) and claimed to be calling from Ontario, Canada. He claimed to be representing Microsoft Windows licensing division saying that someone in various countries around the world was hacking into my computer and could potentially steal personal information plus delete personal files. He gave me a Computer Licence system ID number consisting of 12 letters and numbers and wanted me to sit in front of my computer(s) and confirm if that was indeed my license ID and would only take 5 minutes to fix it if it was my ID. I refused to listen to him, gave him a few unkind words and hung up. 2 minutes later he called back insisting that this was an authentic call and it was extremely important I cooperate. I refused and hung up again. immediately after he called again and this time I asked him to give me a call back number and he gave me 347-332-0595 ext 7026 and his name "Martin". I said it was a strange number for Ontario and he said it was a call-free number. I told him I would call back later and hung up. 5 minutes later he called again and my wife answered. My phone was showing the call to be coming from area code 607.....but I did not catch the full number. My wife then hung up on him and that was the last we heard. I googled the number at work and find this site. Thank you very much.
My 80-year old father has received multiple phone calls from multiple people with an Asian accent. at one point, they called back right after he hung up on them and. He finally listened to what they had to say instead of hanging up. They said his computer ID was being used by someone in Vietnam. He asked for a call back number and asked me to call to see what they wanted. Without even identifying who I was or why I was calling back, they told me the same thing. I asked who they were and was told they were with Microsoft Corporation, Security office in New York. I told them I didn't believe they were with Microsoft and told them that if they called me or my father again I would call the police. They then proceeded to yell at me until I hung up. I went onto Microsoft's web site and reported them and their phone number.
