I got a call from this number today saying it was Shawn with Credit Free Loan Company and that my ex husband had been approved for a loan. I called my ex and when I passed along the information he said he had not applied for a loan. He told me he was prequalified for a $1500.00 loan. THIS IS AN ATTEMPT TO COMMIT FRAUD. DO NOT TELL THESE PEOPLE ANYTHING.
I received a call from this number (347-332-2882) from someone named Angela Anderson as if this was her real name. She had a very strong Indian accent so I doubt it was her real name. She asked me for my Lawyers name and phone # so she can inform them that there will be a law suite against me because of a loan I did not pay back. First of all I never took a loan from anybody but a bank. When I asked her who the loan was from she told me she couldn't tell me. Then I asked how much the loan was for, and the same answer she couldn't tell me. Then I asked when and how much the loan was taken and the same answer. I explained to her that the Fair Debt Collection act states that after I receive the call, the collector must send a writte notice telling me the amount, name of creditor and actions to take to dispute this. She went on to tell me that she didn't have to do that. I asked what papers she will be filing and it sounded like she shuffled some papers around looking for mine. Then she started to read about a law suite, but everytime she had to insert my name into this generic copy, she either paused to look to see my name or said you.Then she threatend that my wages, diability,and or property will be either garnished or put a lien onany property I have. This is also a lie, according to the FDCPA , without a judgment from a court order.Everytime I tried to get a word in, she kept talking and talking. The more questions I tried to ask the faster she talked so it got to the point that she was shouting at me(also not allowed by the FDCPA).This company is a SCAM praying on people that went on line to apply for a loan. When you do they send your information to many different companies who sell this info to who ever will pay them for it. I advise people to disreguard these calls because there is no truth in what they are saying. They just call people one after another in hope that they will scare someone into paying them money for a bogus claim.
Received this call at work today. They called back several times, which I did not answer. I've been scammed by them previously and knew this was another attempt. The name that was left was Charlon (?) Jones through a very heavy accent. They were purposely unclear when stating what charges were going to be filed against me tomorrow at 5pm in California Supreme Court.
