they called me today Jan 13 2014 and left a message that I am under several criminal investigation and I need to call them back immediately. the accent is Indian. phone number to call back was 424 210 3580 and the caller ID showed unassigned 1 347 342 1797. please report these to police, they are harassing us.
Calls and leaves a threatening voice message. Definitely a scam. I strongly encourage anyone getting a threatening call from this phone number to report to local police, FTC, Do NOT CALL & FBI.
Got the same call from this guy definitely a scam. He may sound real but he is not. Hang up and call your local PD or the IRS themselves and let them know
I got a voicemail that asked to call this number. Same stuff as described above. The only difference was, instead of an Indian accent (I am Indian so i know it), it was a New Jersey accent. Obvious scam. Read the helpful message from Alfalfa posted above.
There was a voice mail from 347-342-1797 and the person identified himself as office Jason Smith of crime investgation department. I called the local police and they informed me that even though I did not talk to the person identified as Officer Jason Smith I should file a FTC complaint. Caller left a message saying "received a legal affidavit a legal case file against your name and your identity .........."
