This was a message left on my answering machine. The heavily-accented male said he was a officer of the IRS and calling to give me one last warning, to call back at the above number.
I think it is very similar to several other IRS phone scams that are going around.
Just got this call today. Same person - officer Damon Marshall. He claims to be an officer with the Criminal Investigation Dept. When you call the number back it only rings, rings and then disconnects you. Total Scam!! The IRS will NEVER contact you randomly by phone - always via mail. Please refer to the below IRS link for more info:
I love getting these calls because I mess with them and waste their time SO badly! By the time I'm done with them and finished begging them to save me from aliens, to please put me in jail because I like the food and all sorts of other ways - including finishing a call by telling them that I'M FBI and that we have their location... I'm sure they need a change of underwear! Just waste their time if you get a call from them...
Received a voice mail on 07/19/2016...Tue @16:49 stating he is Officer Damon Marshal, and that this was a Text Crime Investigation and is extremely Time Sensitive and don't try to disregard this message and to return this call before we take any legal action under your name.
Got the same call saying these same things. I get them all the time. I wish they would do something about ppl doing this. The irs will mail you only never ever do they call.
