Just got a call from this # and only reason I answered is I wasn't close to the phone with caller ID LOL
Said hello 3 times and no answer XXXXXXXXXXXX NY
Starts by saying he is with 'tech support'. I had him repeat that 2x, then laughed at him and hung up. There's no category for scam calls so I'm just putting it down as 'unknown'. This is why I don't answer my landline any more. If it's important, they can leave a message.
This guy called saying he was from tech support and his company had received notification from my computer that there was a problem. He wanted me to hold down the ctrl key and the windows key at the same. I said "yeah right, so you can get access to my computer. I don't think so". I told him I would take my computer to the shop & have it checked for problems. He continued to try to get my to "press the keys". He spoke with a very strong accent & I told him several times that I couldn't understand what he was saying. I told him again that I would take it to a repair shop to have it checked out & that I believed it was a scam. He tried convincing me that when there is an issue with the computer "it" notifies Windows & Windows notifies his company. I said "oh really. Windows doesn't have my phone number". I again said it was a scam & hung up.
