Received a call from a guy with Indian accent calling himself Officer Lee Chandler badge number 4927 from the Sheriff's department. The spin was that they spoofed the phone number to look as if they were calling from the real Sheriff department. According to him there was a charge against me and I need to call an officer Thomas O'Brien at phone number 347-418-0425. I check this number and it is connected to a scam number. I also called the Sheriff department and they never heard of an officer by that name. Be careful: This is a scam and they are trying to make it real by masking the number to look as if it coming from a real sheriff/ police station.
Man with Indian accent said that he was calling from office of Greg Martine of the IRS Criminal Investigation division with a time sensitive matter. I needed to return his call ASAP.
Got the same call. Some Indian dude named 'Brad Martin'--as if there are a lot of Indian Brad Martins out there. Asked me if I had received a letter from the IRS, and asked me to call back the same number as ask for his supervisor Jack Hoffman. Called the local police, said it was a scam. I might not ever see justice, but the Bible says 'everything is open and laid bare before the Lord to whom we must give account'. Lord, I put it in your hands.
Got the same message they mimicked my local sheriff's office phone number telling me I should surrender myself immediately to my local sheriff's office because of the IRS has suit against me. Indian voice. Called my sheriff's office they had no idea what was going on. BS. I think they wouldn't call me they might arrest me with no warning.
