Voice on my answering machine sounded like an American. Said he was with the IRS, the Internal Revenue Services [sic]. Said the URS was going to be filing a law suit against me, so I needed to call the number.
I'm one of those old people, but we're not all that stupid.
Got a call from this number, they told my husband they were my 'boyfriend'. Husband laughed and told him they were talking to my other boyfriend. Wouldn't say why they were calling, only that they'd met me in my home and gave my address. I picked up the other phone and asked who they were. The guy said 'I love you, sweetheart' and when I asked who m he was, he hung up. We've been getting a lot of phony 'IRS' calls, and there was obviously a call center in the background, so I'm assuming it was the same people.
Received a call saying they were from the IRS and I owed money and that my house and car had liens on them and my bank accounts would be frozen and a warrant for my arrest if I didn't pay the amount of $1,400. Totally disgusting how these people can get away with trying to scam people and they have not been stopped. There phone number is posted all over google, so they should be easy to locate and they should prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Do you realize how many people, especially elderly people, that have probably been scared and scammed out of money. These people need to be located and stopped and sent back to whatever rock they crawled out from under.
