This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.
A certain Sean from legal department. He claims I have loan with American Cash Advance. He called my work and I'm very mad. I played with him and said I could not make payment today, he asked when, I said 2 weeks, he said Okay I'll call you back and hung up. I'm not obviously going to answer again. Stop those scams!
Last night, called me a Chinese-sounding man under the 347-418-0507. He gave himself as an employee of Sean Parker legal department and said that I missed my last installment and you would now insert legal action against me. Since I really have to pay some installments. I was confused and asked for a few minutes to get to my documents. The man wanted to but did not, but he wanted me to immediately give you my account information, so you can deduct the remaining installments by direct debit. It was only then I noticed that he did not even said, to which rates it goes. He seemed to consider briefly, then said, "For their car." I think that's what he said, because most people take out a loan for a car, but for me is not the way. For my car I pay from any rates. This man wanted to exploit my insecurity! How can you protect yourself from such people?
This is a SCAM they left this number to call back, WHICH I will not. They just wont stop. Lets see this has been going on now for 5 years off and on. When I took a payday loan out THAT was my Mistake because they sold or got my info somehow, BUT since then I have closed out those bank accounts and DO NOT apply for PayDay loans ANYMORE I rather be broke then do that to myself again. Especially because thay are all RIP offs. I feel for people who get these calls and think this is real. This last call was a joke said the wrong name of who I am and could not even speak very good english. From India might even be in India calling, this is why they cant be stopped. So if someone calls you and it is UNKNOWN or PRIVATE don't answer let them leave a message and if they say you commited fraud or whatever and to call them back don't file a complaint. I just got to the point of deleted them. When I call back to let them know I am up on them they start to say bad words and hang up. Then it takes a few months and then they change their number and do it all over. LOL PLEASE!!!!!! They steal lots from AMERICANS. So people wake up and spread the word.
I too have been getting calls from this number saying that I owe money on a payday loan. They keep harrassing me at work and threating to have me fired. They have even started harrassing my supervisor, saying that they can press charges against him against him as well because I used him as a reference. I told them I googled this number and know it is a scam. That stopped the call for a few months but now they are at it again.
