I got a fishing call the AMMYY scam. I played dumb, but very nice and said finally that the computer that had a real problem was downstairs, could I call him back? And the guy (from Microsoft, he said) actually gave me their number, so I called back, asked for Samuel. He said he'd call me back, and I sweetly said "That's okay, I'll hold."
Muffled muttering, then they hung up. When I called back again they obviously had caller ID and didn't pick up.
As someone said, our goal is to keep them on the phone; they pay for that time. So, all of you who would like to put it to an AMMYY.COM scammer, call 1-347-433-6977, play sweet and ask for help with your computer. If they haven't figured out that you are NOT really serious, they'll tell you to log on to www.ammyy.com, etc. fake it and keep them on the phone.
Yup. Scam the scammer!
