Also got a call ... CLAIMED it was a courtesy call from Microsoft Technical Dept.... told me my computer was generating a high volume of reports. Asked me to run eventvwr also. I know they are normal. They requested I RUN www.support.me at which time I ask verification and return call number. The woman "Rose" gave me 1-347-468-9508. When asked for the 800 Microsoft number she hung up.
DEFINITELY A SCAM ... but cannot find out who to report it to ... Microsoft directs us to the FTC but the FTC does not give an option in the pull down menu to explain this!
Who do we notify>??
Got the same call. When I asked for the number to contact "microsoft" myself they gave me 347-468-9607, then I hung up. Only had the nerve to call back 5 minutes later and ask if I had the computer running yet, and then I told him that I was going to search the number and I thought it was a scam. He said ok and hung up.
