Total spam, from "New York, NY". Many, many reports on this elsewhere, surprised not here. Just called me on my Do-Not-Call listed (NY and National) listed mobile. Sure would be nice if the telcos listened to consumers and solved this disgusting problem with the blink of an eye, as they have FTC and FCC approval/encouragement and there were contests to develop blocks for robo-calling and spoofed or non-existent CID.
Consumers Union delivered (and still has on their site) a petition to the Telcos to do the right thing. AT&T said they will (accent on AND - And will they?) When? Supposed task force by October. We need action. Report to Do-Not-Call (FTC), state lists and AG's, and your telcos, who can act whenever they feel like customer experience matters. Shame on the telcos, only one step less slimy than the criminals auto-dialing us.
Received a call on my mobile phone from 347-474-5772 on 9/9/2016 at 2:54pm EDT. Caller ID displayed "New York NY".
Google Voice already has this number on their spam list so my phone only rang once and the caller was automatically sent to voice mail. No message was left.
Based on comments posted elsewhere it appears that this is another number being used by the "Free Cruise" scam.
I have added this number to my Google Voice block list. If the caller attempts to call again they will receive the not-in-service recording.
