This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information from unscrupulous websites like the one you filled out an application with, and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.

Called my home 5 times and left messages stating I was in serious trouble; and they were conducting a legal investigation. When I called they said I applied for a pay day loan; and had commited fraud. They said they were going to send a legal screener to my job. I told them I know this is a scam;and that I will have them arrested. They said they are going to call my job tomorrow. I applied for a pay day loan; but changed my mind and never recieved a penny from them.
This man "Daniel Smith" called my mobile phone telling me that there was a legal matter pending against me. This person was rude and nasty. Asked me did I know that this action was against my social security number. I kept asking him how did he get my information and all he would say was that he needed to verify that he was talking to the right person. I told him that I was alerting the authorities regarding his call. He did not seem to care
