I am so sick of this number calling me. The Caller ID merely shows New York, NY with the phone number. This time I answered and waited, received a recording telling me I was number two in line. Finally another message came on telling me I was eligible for better rates on my Duquesne Light bill. I do not have an interest in these companies but I held on so that I could ask that they remove me from their calling list. I have called this number several times in the past and received a recording tat if I do not want to receive further calls, press 1. So far, that has not worked well.
A representative who identified herself as Tara got on the line and asked me if I had my electric bill available. I merely said "You know what Tara, I am actually holding to ask that my number be removed from your calling lists". I thought I was being exceptionally polite yet instead of a response, she slammed the line on me. Now I am even more irritated that I was being that polite. If this occurs again, I will not be.
She can boo hoo all the way to the bank. You can make up to $1,000 for each call when you sue. They'll usually agree to pay you $500 in cash right before this goes to trial. It's easy money but most people simply hang up and ignore these violations of the Do Not Call list.
Sure it's a violation. Legitimate companies don't violate the DNC list. So who do you think you are REALLY talking to? What do you think they're going to do with your personal information when you give it to them?
If you're on the DNC list and a telemaketer calls, they're breaking the law. What do they call people who break the law? What's the name for them? Yeah. That's who is calling you.
BUYER BEWARE. The DNC list works -- it assures you that the ONLY people who will call to "sell" you things are not honest people. So hang up. Or take them to court and sue them for violating the DNC and win a judgement against them.
They keep calling and calling and calling. I am on the DO NOT CALL LIST. Alot of good that does.
I still keep getting calls that are not supposed to be calling if you are on the Do Not Call List..
Even though I hang up on the call or don't answer the call, they still keep calling. Very Very Annoying.
A person isn't on the other end, it is just a recording saying you are/or may be entitled to lower energy bills.
