This number, and others like it (I think the last 2 digits are different), have been calling me three times a day for the past three weeks. I had been tricked into picking up the first couple of times, then I hang up once I hear the prerecorded message about my utility bill.
This is SOOOO annoying!! How is nothing being done about this?
This number and several similar ones have been calling me with a government offer to lower my electric bill. (By the way, my electric bill is very low and would not qualify me for assistance.) This time I pressed "0" to speak to someone. They immediately asked me if I had my electric bill ready. I told them to remove my name from their solicitation list. I knew that they were a fraud. In a rude tone I was told, "Mame, it will take 48 hours to remove your name. Have a nice day." I looked up the number under reverse numbers and found that it is a land line in Bayside, NY. I don't have a clue as to whether or not that is true.
I come here every day, reporting all of the different numbers and names, as well as reporting them to the Do Not Call list. I feel like I am being held hostage in my home. I fail to see how the phone company cannot block these calls (I don't have a cal blocking service) the way ISP's so with scam emails. i hope these people doing this as their jobs get hit by the karma truck as it's barreling down their streets in Mumbai or whereever they are from
