Saw on the news (in NYC) last night that May saw people nationwide flooded with spoof calls from 212 & 347 (NY) area codes, or spoofed.
Senator Schumer is pushing legislation REQUIRING Telcos to block robo-calls and spoofs for both mobile and landline phones, a great idea which the public wants clearly, which FTC and FCC have approved, which brought competition for software which now exists for Telcos, and is being held back only because the Telco's don't feel like deploying consumer protections. Please report to local authorities and to be most effective, write your Senator and sign the Consumers Union petition demanding that Telephone Companies give us the #1 thing we so need and want - protection from robo-calls and spoofed Caller ID's. It's easy to fix, if OUR chosen phone providers offer it. Those who do so voluntarily will get tons of new business, but as of now, none do.
So today this was the alleged number calling me. Blocking/reporting but we need Congress to act on this (along with so much else!).
The Consumers Union petition is easy and (aside from Sen. Schumer) the only loud voice the Telco's might hear through their static:

Speak out! Do-Not-Call is a joke and criminal fraudsters using robo-call and fake identitities are only increasing. There's an easy fix waiting.
Received a call from 347-560-5773 on 6/6/2016 at 1:22pm EDT. Caller ID displayed "New York NY".
Google Voice already has this number on their spam list so my phone only rang once and the caller was automatically sent to voice mail. The following automated message was left (the first few seconds were apparently cut off):
"...and you have been selected to receive a free cruise to the Bahamas, so congratulations! You have heard correctly, it is a cruise to the Bahamas for 2 people and like most cruises all the expenses are included. We would like for you to participate in a short survey and at the end of the survey you will be awarded your free cruise. Let's get started. (Pause) Okay, I'm sorry, I didn't hear you clearly. To receive your complimentary cruise tickets and to start the survey please say yes, otherwise please say no to be removed from National Statistical Survey studies. (Pause) Okay, sorry to have bothered you. We will remove you from our list immediately."
Based on the content of the message, as well as the similarity to other numbers in the 347 area code displaying the same caller ID, it appears that this is another number being used by the "Free Cruise" scam. The last 10 calls I have received from this scam have all come from the 347 area code and the last 3 ended with 560-57xx similar to this one. All the numbers have only called once.
I have added this number to my Google Voice block list. If the caller attempts to call again they will receive the not-in-service recording.
