The caller ID said the Call was from Bronx, NY I asked who it was they said hold on and someone else came on the line with the name Sara Michaels. I asked where she was calling from and she said Jacksonville, FL. I said what was the call about and she said a personal cash advance from 2008. She was calling a day before because a court summons was coming on Friday. Today is Wednesday. She then asked what did I want to do, pay a time settlement, or 3 monthy payments or go to court. I said when was this and what personal cash advance, they had my social # and email account and I asked for things in writing and she said well I guess that means you going to go to court I said whatever and hung up the phone. Then I googled the name and number and found out all this so SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
These scammers are related to multiple other phone numbers. They claim to be from Civil Procedures, sometimes give a name that is correct and sometimes to an unknown person. Your best solution is to simply block the number through the phone service provider. They will NOT stop calling. They are seeking information and will use it to drain your bank account. Report them to your state AG, local law enforcement and do NOT give them information.
Rec'd more then a dozen calls from this number and others seeking the same. It is a scam and I work for and contacted my State's AG's office, the BBB, Federal Trade Commission Washington DC), Canda's Federal Trade Commission etc. they all tell you the same thing. Since these #s are cell phone numbers from here and outside the US it is hard for them to find these people and to put a stop to it. I've filed several reports with my local police department and my banking institution and again NO ONE can stop these harassing/annoying & phony people. Your best bet is not to answer their calls, if they call family members (they will look you up on the internet and call anyone with your last name or maiden name) tell them to not answer or do not give any type of information to these people. They will drain your bank account to be sure! I've blocked these #s from calling my cell. Yes they can get that number too. Good luck!
First time thisd number has called, but it sounds like the same scam connected to tens (if not hundreds) of phone numbers. The Caller ID came up as Vitelity LLC, so I googled the name.....
"Vitelity LLC" is a provider of VoIP phone service, that is commonly used by a number of telemarketers, particularly calling from out of the country or overseas. They also frequently show up on caller id in connection with fraudulent telemarketing complaints, including advance fee "loan" scams, phony "payday loan debt collection" scams, etc.
I received a call from this number this morning, trying to collect $1200 for a $400 debt from 2008. They had my full ss# and DOB. They stated If I didnt pay that I would be served legal paperwork from 9-5 on Friday. Do not pay these people a penny. It is a scam!
