What is this and how did lmy number get out there

Mine was 347-640-3584, didn't click the link. Most likely SPAM. It was text message this AM

Mine was from texted from 347-927-4163, same thing - free $1000 BestBuy gift card. Says to use code 86852 at some tinyurl.com site.  I won't bother - probably a malicious link.

I got a similar message saying I won a Best Buy 1000 dollar gift card. It told me to go to http://tinyurl/BBuy
or something like that. If wanted me to enter my cell number and some information, but nothing too personal. I think it is a hoax or possibly virus, but I could be wrong the site just seemed somewhat sketchy to me. Let me know it you know any information.
