I have a friend who came over today (I haven't seen her in years) and she gave me a note with this # on it saying the dude's name was Jeff Adam and that he was from ACS Legal dept. said he was some type of cop and even gave my friend a badge # (Which he went thru so fast she coudln't write it down), said "you need to get $500 to the court house by tomorrow or they will put holds on all your credit cards, debit cards take your drivers license etc. They were going to do some kind of action against her husband, (who my husband used as a reference YEARS ago on a car loan) and that he needed to hire an attorney 'cause he could go to jail".
Needless to say after seeing these sites and googling "Jeff Adams, ACS LEgal Dept" and seeing all THIS cme up... I determined it was a scam, informed my friend fo it and file a police report for extortion on this dude. He had a thick indian accent, spoke in irregular broken english and was loud and threatening with my friend.
received a phone call from my job from 347-635-5992 stating that i had a lawsuit out against me and that they will be contacting my employer and references if i do not call them back. did not say another about what the debt was for, which i'm assuming they got my information from a payday loan. it was a heavy indian accent and his name was steven. the last name was so grubbled that i could not understand it. these calls are from scammers and can't be traced. i have contacted my attorney generals off for the state of north carolina and was informed that the company can not be located and the number provided was not obtainable. however i was told that in my state there is nothing that they can do. any reference i have used in the past has been notified to not entertain the calls therefore and as my employer number i always used my direct line. however they called from a number that registered on the caller id as all zero's then as unavailable.
This is a total scam "Jason Anderson from ACS about a federal investigation" this guy with a broken accent calls and says he's going to hit my credit and put me in jail...
I had a man in very broken english telling me his name was David Johnson. He has called my sister and gave her my social security number over the phone before proceeding to leave me a voice mail that said the Sheriffs department would be knocking at my door with a warrent for my arrest if I didn't pay them $600. When I called him back, I told him he was to cease and desist all contact with my sister. He started screaming at me. I told him that by law, I don't have to pay him anything until I have proof of monies owed. He then hung up on me. I believe its a scam. I'm furious that he is giving out my social security number even if it is to my sister.
