They left a message since I don't answer unknown calls. Could hardly understand foreign speaking man who said that someone was going to take legal action against me for an unpaid debt. What the heck; I don't owe anyone except for a credit card which is being paid off monthly!
Update: "Officer Washington" (not a real officer of anything except scams) says that the investigation is related to a loan taken on an internet website called US Fastcash. However, she cannot say what company the alleged loan was with.
If a real company wanted to collect from you, they would give the name of the company. These people want to scare you so you start coughing up money. They are working the numbers. Most people who take out payday loans default on at least one of them, so they are counting on you to just assume they are calling to collect on a legitimate loan. The fact that they can't even identify the name of the company who issued the loan is a sure sign this is pure scam.
Interesting how scammers do grab the interest of most of us.
We needen't feel bad about being called or suckered.
We just need to keep mindful that the internet contains very active b.s.,
the nature of which is to get something from us.
I received a call from this number asking for an emplopyee whom works here. He states his name is "Officer Mackalight" BS Name. He couldnt speak without a slur. He sounded 100% drunk when he called. I kept asking for his name and number and he couldnt understand what i meant. I am beginning to dislike the phone system and the authorities whom are supposed to monitor it.
Receieved a call and voicemail from an indian-accented man with heavily broken english, couldn't even pick up his name. Says he's from some made-up "bureau." Apparently its the same guys behind scamming people with bogus payday loans and thier same speech with regards to "time-sensitive" matters regarding their SSN, legal action, etc. Only difference is the phone #'s they use. They just don't know when to quit. Again, DO NOT give in to these guys, continue to report them and any # they use to IC3, FTC, FBI, FCC, etc.. hopefully one day these [***] will get a dose of thier own medicine from a real federal agency
I keep getting phone calls from this "Indian accented" man who keeps saying i owe all this money to the some company that i have never even heard of. I contacted the phone company, the sheriff's office, and the federal trade commission. I applied for a credit card online and they sold my information to these dirtbags. Am not going to let them get away with this harrassment. I am filing a complain with the federal trade commission. So I hope their fake agency, gets a dose of what they put honest hardworking people through.
