IRS Scam. Caller ID showed New York NY. Caller was a mechanical voice. The text of this is from my voice mail, which doesn't always transcribe very well. The caller starts speaking before the outgoing message is complete, so the first couple words are lost and the first couple words on the message are rather garbled, though the transcriber managed to interpret them somehow.
"Sensitive. I am officer Lauren Matthew from Internal Revenue Service and the hotline to my division is 347-637-6614. Repeat it 347-637-6614. Della disregard this message and do return the call before we take any action against you. Goodbye and take care."
"Della" sounded like "Do Not" when I listened to it.
Call from Bob Fernandez, stating from IRS. Stated I have errors in my tax return. Then he told I was going to be arrested at my work in 1.5 hours.
Stated that I need to a bank to withdraw cash and complete a Tax Voucher.
He asked to stay on the phone with me for the next 1.5 hours while get the cash, go to a store (name not given) to complete a Tax Voucher for $4,800.00
