I also received from this number. She didn't say look for who and for what, just said personal matter and give me the reference number. it's got to be spam.
I got a call from the number also. Some guy who call's himself mr wallace telling me he work for transit & i owe money for not paying a bus fare. I told him, i do not know what he was talking about. Then he told me my cell number & address only, but got my social security number wrong. To be honest I dont know how this clown got my info & he wants ssn, I told him i dont give out my ssn only when applying for jobs, hospitals, & opening bank accounts. Is this guy funny of what?! I have not rode the bus since march & i always use my car since then. Anyway, I see this as a case of extorsion.I will have a police report filed asap!
I Just received a call from the number, she said her name was Ms.Jackson and she was calling from NYCTA Ajudications Bureau. How she got my number and my 16yr old daughter name I will never know, but anyway she said my daughter was on an express bus in District 34 on 11/08/14 @ 8am but when I asked her what area that was she said she didn't know exactly where and said she was probably on her way to school...smh! I told her first off my daughter doesn't take an express bus anywhere and asked her when the police stopped my underage daughter to give her a ticket what id did she show them, what school was the id from she couldn't give me that information. I told her to call back later.
I got a letter in the mail and decided to call. When I spoke to a rep I was advised that I received a ticket in 1998 for an open container on DeKalb avenue. I laughed. I never received a summons for an open container in my life. Especially not in Brooklyn as I am from Nj and can count on one hand how many times I've been to Brooklyn. I then asked her my drivers license #. She gave me the last four....which was wrong. I hung up!! Total scam!!!
I got a message saying it was regarding "a very important matter". I dialed the number provided, and a lady promptly answered and looked up my "case" by the reference number and name I gave her. I was told I had a property lean against my house in Pennsylvania and Ohio for unpaid school taxes (I lived in Pennsylvania before and my sister owns a house there - they did confirm that for me on their computer), and to resolve it I had to pay $453.23 immediately or a warrant for my arrest would be issued. I told them I lived in NY state, but they said that "extradition laws" allow them to arrest me now. There was a judge on "stand by" - supposedly, and I could talk to him if I chose to. I chose not to. I was hesitant at first to give her my driver's license number but after she confirmed my address and my name and last 4 digits of my social security number, I paid the fine. And I have not heard from the agency again. I actually called them last week and spoke to nice woman who said that there was no record of my name or property. So, they did remove it and now I'm safe.
