I live in NYC. These scam artists call my household twice a day. I was fed up. The number on caller ID comes up as Louis O'Minelli. The person on the other end claims to be an employee for Manhattan Credit Union. Starts asking how much debt I have. Begins pitching a way for me to eliminate "$20,000 in debt" that I have. I have no debt. I recently checked my credit report and credit score and everything is as it should be. Watch out for these scam artists.
