DON'T ANSWER. IF YOU DO THIS IS A SCAM !!!!!!!! ALSO WATCH OUT FOR # 202-470-6879.......... I also got a call from this number. I answered. It was a man with a THICK middle eastern or like accent. He said he was from the Federal Government Grants Department and that out of 700 people I had been chosen to receive a $7,000 grant. I asked why, he replied that since i have been paying my taxes and had not filed for bankruptcy. # I- I have not filed taxes in over 5 years.(I am retired). #2- I filed bankruptcy in 2005... I knew from the git-go THIS IS A SCAM. I played along. The man then told me all I had to do was pay a $190.00 processing fee, which of coarse was fully refundable (HA HA) I said OK what do I do. He said we can take the fee out of you bank account, a credit card or Western Union. I choose Western Union but said I did not know where there was a one, he even looked up a location and gave me one to go to. Then he gave me a Grant ID # and told me to call Keith Miller at 202-470-6879, so I called. Surprise surprise! Keith Miller also has a very THICK middle eastern or like accent at this time I was tired of playing there games. During the entire call I was on the internet and saw notices that THIS IS A SCAM even though I already knew. So I asked Keith Miller How do you sleep at night? He just kept talking on script. I asked again.BLAH BLAH BLAH then he transferred me to his supervisor Patricia Taylor Guess what THICK middle eastern or like accent..I gave Patricia Taylor a mouthful. Sorry for the long reply everybody.. If you do answer GIVE THE HELL
Call came in yesterday (Oct 1) and displayed the name "Kenneth Jones" -- no one I know! No one said anything wo I hung up and decided to add it to my blocked call list and look it up here. Glad I did. It really is incredible how these people can get an actual phone number to conduct these scams when you almost need an attorney to conduct other personal business these days. Oughta be a law . . .
