Pretty Confused as to what exactly is going on and why someone would be using anything todo with children to run Scams on people.

Received a call at 5:30 in the morning and being unemployed got excited only to find this post about it being a scam. Thank you for the warning.

I got a message from "Laura Keys" at this number. She wanted me to watch her 2 year old son "Carl". She offered to send me money for expenses plus $500 up front. I was instructed to send the money for expenses to a person on eBay. I need a real nanny position, this is really frustrating. She said she found me on Care.com, but I'm not registered there.

My daughter got the same call to babysit Carl in Portland for three months. Same sorry as she has been telling everyone else. She sent a  check for 2950.00 instead of 500.00 for toys to get ready for her son to come. Called the company on the check. These people have been sending out hundreds of checks all around the US. They want you to cash them imediately and get toys. As soon as you cash the check the say their plans are changed and to send them the cash and toys which the have. A site to resell on ebay. Then when the check doesnt clear the bank takes the money out of your account to cover what you spent. She wants you to contact her by email because the police say that no one has jurisdiction over the internet. Its fradulent to to it over the phone. Take the check to the nearest police station and have them document that you destroyed it in front of them and had then throw it away. Oh and dont ever give your SS # or bank account number to any online site because anyone can get the info.   Make sure all sites you deal with say https: instead of http: that means there secure sites.
