Was sent by 247-703-0487
Phone message that cllaimed I was Iowa's daily winner in Ultimate Free Giveaway and told to go to Apple.com within 24hrs to claim prize. Nothing on Apple sight about this. At bottom of message was ultimatefreegiveaway.co. Did not look into that address.
Rec'd scam text from 347-703-0487: "Congratulations! You are Iowa's WINNER OF THE DAY! Go to http://www.apple.com.ultimatefreegiveaway.com to claim your prize. Must claim your within 24hrs."
Clearly a scam. I did not go to that address -- you shouldn't either!
Received message from 516-526-9794. Caller lookup reveals it's an SMS registered to AT&T MOBILITY out of the New York, NY Metro Area.
Same thing as previous posts.. site clearly is not a trusted Apple website. I didn't go to the site, but it is not a legitimate apple site. DO NOT CLICK ON THE LINK!!!
It seems a lot of people were getting these on Memorial Day. My Mother got the same text. She was excited at first, until I explained it was a scam. :/
Funny thing is that my Apple iMac's harddrive also decided to take a dive on Memorial Day.. great timing, scammers.
