I just got the call this morning. First he asked for my wife.
The caller had a heavy India Indian accent wants my wife to call Damon Marshall at the IRS Investigation bureau.
I asked him where his location was and he told me he was is NYC and that the IRS agent was waiting for me to call at their HQ in NYC.
Then he told me to call Damon Marshall. Since I had a hard time understanding him, I had to repeatedly ask him to repeat what he said.
When I told him he was a scammer, be got belligerent and told me I would be in trouble with the IRS and they'll be knocking on my door and I was wasting his time.
Called me yesterday morning that he was from IRS and I have to call Damon Marshall immediately on the same number and that I have taxes miscalculated for last 10 years and action is being taken to seize my property and i will be taken to court :-) I called this person and asked him to send me official communication as IRS and law abiding citizens do not deal with these matters on the phone. He did not further discuss and hung up.
Its harassment call specially targeting old and innocent people who may fall in the trap of these scammers. One more call and I am complaining...
BTW, IRS web site is aware of these phony scammers. BEWARE and do not pass any personal information.
Called and left a mostly unintelligible message with this number. Wanted a call back, but all I could make out was the number, "sales dept", "income tax" and "timely matter". Not giving them a call back...
