they call me all the time, I they said they work for a law frim, but couldn't tell me the name, I asked for the address, they kept asking me why do I need this, I said my lawyer needs it, they gave me a fake address.
I rec'd a call from a foreign sounding lady with the name of Sarah Parker (must be the wife of a Rick Parker I saw posted on this website) wanting to speak with the person that lives in my household. Said she was calling from Global Collections, an attorney's office in New York. I took the message and she gave me the phone number of 347-753-9333. The person in this household doesn't have any debt so I know the call is a scam.

The exact same thing is happening to me. They say that I have charges against my name and my ssn and they won't give me any infomation on where they are located...they man wouldn't let me talk at all and got mad when I kept cutting him off...he even said f*ck me and hung up. Is this a scam or is it real???
Have had several of these calls - a message stating that "Mike Johnson" (I know HIS mama didn't name him that!!) with a very thick accent says he is from "a legal dept" and needs me to "reciprocate an urgent return call" and that if I do not call back I will have a big legal mess...I was already aware of this scam, and when I called back, I asked questions to get the "attorney" as off-script as I could, and he kept getting angry and telling me that if I let him give me the "informations" (yes, plural, lol) he would address my questions. After letting him read his script, I then asked where he is located, and he gave me the address (which I know from research houses the NYC Civil court among other agencies, but not an agency called "Global Collections" which he stated his company name is), and I asked him if he himself was in NY at that moment, and after his answer of yes, I asked the simple question of 'what time is it in NYC?' which made him very angry, and he never answered. By this time I am actually enjoying myself aggravating "Mike", so I allowed him to continue. I asked him what charges the company was filing, and was told 3 charges involving fraud for a payday loan. He could not provide me with the company that supposedly had issued this unpaid loan. He asked that I take down his information, which I gladly did. He stated he was from a legal firm, and when I asked the name of his firm, he said "A Legal Firm", which I questioned, and made him angry again (teehee). He then said Global Collections, and gave me the address of "111 Centre St., NY NY City, 10013" with the city and state actually reversed both times he gave it, which is more proof he is not in NY. He said that a state fraud division had referred my case (he gave me a case #) to his firm, and they would be uploading my file to the legal system within 2 hours unless I made arrangements to pay the non-exestent debt. When I asked what state's fraud division had referred the case, he got agitated and said that he had already told me NY, and when I told him that since I do not live, work, or obtained any loan in NY, I doubted that was true, he said I needed to listen to him and that I was "being very smart". I said yes I am very smart, and I am aware this is a scam, and that now that I have all his contact info, if I receive any more calls from that # I would be filing harassment charges. I have not had a call since :)
Total scam. I had a lot of fun letting him go on and on from the script you could tell he was reading from, and asking questions that were def not in their training, like, "what time is it in NY right now?" and "what state is it again that referred my case?" and "what loan company exactly do I have this debt with?" and he would get angry and tell me to let him give me the "informations" and then he would address my questions - after he instructed me to take his contact info and I di, I then told him that now I have his info to file harassment charges since I know it is a scam. That was the end of the messages and calls :)
I spoke with Sara Parker last night! Has had me sick to my stomach and have spoken bto 3 attorneys this morning! She threatened me with spending 30-60 days "downtown.". How long has this been going on? Has anything been done to stop these people?
