the scammers are selling medical alert systems to the senior citizens. luckily i was visiting my parents and answered this call. maybe they had bought it.
The name on caller ID said "alert". I am so beleaguered with telescammers I started to keep a diary of the calls. I had a call that said "alert" in November from two different numbers (213-710-3617 and 213-710-8660). They were offering seniors $3,000 dollars worth of free grocery coupons and a free medic alert bracelet. Since these callers spoof their numbers to keep from being found, I wouldn't be surprised if this is the same outfit. Of course they never left a message about what they were SELLING. By the way, over 3 months I logged over 100 unique phone numbers and much of them were the exact same people. I have discovered that if I don't answer callers who don't identify themselves or have suspicious names, no matter how mad they make me, they will eventually slack off.
Caller ID said ALERT. No message left. I think this may be the first time for this number, but not certain. I have had no recent calls from the medic alert scammers with their $3000 grocery coupons, so I hope it is not starting up again. Have never answered a single one of the calls, from a dozen different numbers all pushing the same agenda.
