I have been receiving numerous texts from a Garry Nelson from two different numbers asking me to clean rugs. He is persistent. After three days and numerous texts regarding this job, a continued to ask him to call me. He cited poor health, relocation, etc. as a reason he had to do business over the phone via text. I looked up both numbers which brought me to this sight. He is definitely scamming. Don't fall for it.
This number text me to set up an appointment for 6 up-do's. He referred to himself as Fred Miller and said a "late friend" gave him my info. He said he was def so he wouldn't be able to call me. He also would not give me his e-mail. He became pushy for more info on me...full name, my salon address and so on. I did not give him the info after he said he could not give me his credit card info to reserve the large space. I am now hearing he is somehow scamming hairdressers out of money. Just a heads up to the hairdresser family!!!!!! The number comes up as a land lline in New York. Hope this can help.
I own Mischief Cupcakes in Ohio. And I got a text from this number referring to himself as Garry Nelson. Asking if I accept credit cards on my orders. I have gone through is about a dozen times. I didn't even play along this time. It's always the same thing though. Wants to order 1000, pay for them by credit card and would give me a generous tip. And cannot be called because he is hard of hearing.
I just received a email from the same person but stated his name is Garry Nelson I also own a cupcake shop in California, same thing wanted 450 cupcakes and a $150 tip for the employees and wants me to charge him $1500 dollars on top of the cupcake order to wire transfer it to a trucking company that will pick up the cupcakes!!
Of course you realize the shipping company is actually the scammer and you would be out a lot of dough. (Sorry, couldn't resist the pun.) The overpayment/wire transfer is a dead giveaway to a scam.
