A text from this number requested shipment of an item listed on Craigslist in a way that sounds precisely like the scams reported by prior Craigslist people who have gotten burned. The scam works like this: The buyer is from a different city than the seller, offers to send a check and wait for it to cash, then have a shipper pick up the item and send it. However, the check is for more than the cost of the item and the buyer is meant to pay for shipping from the excess. Then, the check can be reversed by the so-called "buyer," leaving the seller liable for the shipping charges and out of the proceeds of the sale. Go to Craigslist and type in "check shippper scam" for more information
Hi,
I got that txt today but when I gave that person my P.O BOX he never replied back. not sure if that person is going to send the check or not or what to do next.
I don't want to be part of that scam and I am already in it.
