This guy Mr Brown just called my wifes cell number reporting she was in big trouble. She could not understand his broken english as he babbled on, so I advised her to hang up. He called back and I answered the phone to hear him complaining of her hanging up on him. I advised him of him having the wrong number and hung up. He called back twice and we never picked up the phone. On the third try he left a voice mail indicating she had lied abount some investigation and she was in big trouble. If she didn't return his call he would have someone at her place of employment in the moring to discuss this matter with her boss and she would be in "big trouble". Trouble is ................. she has been retired for a number of years and so have I. Sounds as if this guy is in BIG TROUBLE if he is ever caught.
This person keeps calling my number looking for a previous employee. I tell them that he no longer works for us and to please stop calling and take this number out of his system.
He says we are lying, he calls me a [***] (a mother [***] to be exact) and threatens with arrest. Once, after hours, two of them called 16 times, I have it on recording that they asked for my address because they wanted to come and rape me.
Could someone please tell me how this can be stopped?
These people are a long way off, and jail for debt is illegal in this country, so don't give them any information, and certainly don't give them a credit card number. It is a scam!! Most likely the caller had a strong accent. They usually have SS# info, address, and other personal info to scare you with. Most of the people who have reported such calls to me have had an online or title loan recently and that appears to be the source of any personal info. You should report this to a local authority, FBI, U.S. Attorney, state consumer affairs, police, etc., but tell them about any online or title loans in the last year or so. You may be able to hold that real prior creditor liable for releasing your information. We need to pin down the source of the personal info which they use to scare people, and go after these crooks that way.
