I also got the exact same message from Shelly Hunter on 8/17/2010 regarding a Craigslist ad for a rental home in Belmont, CA. Hunter Properties has a website (only you can't get past the main page; silly me, I thought it was just my work computer not having flash installed), so I thought it seemed legit. I signed up for the credit report. A few hours after completing/printing the report, my inbox was flooded with emails about all the credit servies I supposedly signed up for; the emails say if I don't cancel all the misc reports within the next few days, I'll be charged $29.95 monthly for each service!
This number is also being used as part of a scam on Craigslist. You reply to their job ad and get this email back:
CM,
Thank you for your interest in our position. I tried reaching you at the phone number you provided but was unable to get through. I didn't leave a message because I had to send you an email explaining our hiring process. The reason I was calling was to conduct a phone interview; basically it is the first step we take before asking candidates for an in person interview. I need you take a moment to call me back so that we can procede with the phone interview and if all goes well setup an in person interview. Before you call, please make sure you have the following documentation at hand:
1) Your current resume detaling previous experience
2) References; at least 1 (Name and phone number)
3) Recent credit score (We are a collection agency and we use this number because the clients we work with require this information from our employees)
Please have these documents ready prior to calling for the phone interview. You will need your most recent credit score (not older than a week); Our company has negotiated with our partner to offer our applicants a Free Credit Score. Please visit the site below to get your free score, make sure you write down your credit score number:

Note: Please do not forward or attach your credit report. We only need the score, should be a 3 digit number (ex. 680). Once you get this information call me at 347-828-7938. Please be aware that we may ask you to bring in a copy of your credit report on the day of your interview.
.
Thank you

If you google Hellen Bryson you'll find a link on this site to a different number these ppl were using to suck ppl in, with either an identical or near-identical email message. If you get anything from Hellen Bryson requiring your credit score, run the other way.
I'm glad I came across this message. I received an email almost exact, except its from a "Nita May".See below --
