This was not the number that called me. Caller ID said Unavailable Unknown Number. It was a recording, saying it was the IRS and there was a lawsuit against me. It said to call this number (347)851-7110 to find out the details. It also said it was my "final" notice. Yeah, right, they will call again.
i got the exact same call as "Hmmm" above. I returned their call and played along with them for awhile, just to see how far they'd take it. The message said same thing...IRS calling, final notice, call and resolve immediately to avoid lawsuit, etc. once I started talking to them they said I could avoid being ARRESTED if I resolved the matter right then, over the phone. They said I owed the IRS $1,559.00 for 2012 and 2013 and I was to go to my bank, get a cashiers check and ONE OF THEIR OFFICERS WOULD COME TO MY HOME AND PICK UP THE MONEY!!! When I asked them if they had my correct address they rattled it off. I also asked if their officers were in my town right then and they told me yes and they could be at my house in less than 30 minutes. They told me I had to stay on the phone with them the entire time, even when I went to the bank or I'd be arrested. I tried to get law enforcement and the media involved but they weren't really interested. So everyone, BEWARE!!!
My mother received a recorded message/call from this number. They identified themselves as the IRS and shat she owed a lot of money. Thankfully, she called me. I in turn called the number which sounded like a "boiler room operation" operated by persons with heavy Indian accents. The individual I spoke to briefly said that he was with the IRS and that "I" obviously owned the IRS money or I wouldn't have received the call. Poop on them!
I called this number back, (347-851-7110) and they said same thing...that they were "irs". Since I wasn't willing to "arrange to pay" over $3000 in back taxes from 2011 to 2013 they were suspending my license and issued arrest warrant for me. Wow. Really? So I told him it sounded fake because this is the first time I heard of this. The irs man "sean miller" argued back with me and said I would be arrested in 30 min for talking to an official irs agent like that! Play along if you'd like, this is a scam!!
