They texted me about a Craig's list post of things I'm selling saying to accept a check from them and someone will come pick up my items for them .. Umm hell no I'm not
Same thing, texted me about a Craig's List posting. Wanted to send a certified check and have someone pick it up. Wanted to pay me more than I asked as a convenience. BEWARE!!!
Just got a check today for $2000 more than I wanted for my Craig's List posting. I'm sure the call will come for some one to try to pick up my stuff, and for a check back to the buyer for the overpayment...NOT.
Take the check to your bank and ask them to investigate for possible fraud. Provide them with all the information on your supposed "buyer" that you can including any phone numbers used for text messages or calls or any email addresses or physical addresses. Include the information on the pick up person if you can.
Scammer. replies to craigslist ads with not intent to buy, will send you the no money wire transfer. Don't give any personal info outMy ad clearly states, NO TEXT OR SMS
