I just got contacted by this person as well but on kijiji He had a bit of a different story. "Sounds good i want it for my Friend for a Christmas Gift who just travel Oversea for a schooling project"
He didn't ask for any personal info but it just sounded wrong. Glad I found this thread.
Another Craigslist txt scam, this one was cute because it said the txt'ers son was a traveling pastor who was overseas, and that they'd send the asking price plus $150 PLUS shipping to send it to him via money order, just as soon as I provided my personal info.
Beware scam!
The person offers to pay you extra for something you're selling online and pay lots of $$ for shipping. They say it's for their pastor's son who just traveled to West Africa.
DO NOT give them your personal info!

Listed an iPhone 5 on Craig's list and for contacted by this # stating that they want to buy the phone for $350 ($75 more than I was asking). They also offered to pay $150 if I shipped it. They wanted my paypal account information for payment. Clearly a scam and reading these threads I can see I was right.
