Received a call from 360-200-6817 at 5:30 AM. The message was "this call is to inform you that the IRS is filing a law suit against you. Please call this number immediately for more information."
I received a call as well. It's definitely a scam. They are using a roto-dialer and when you call they tell you that your taxes from 2008-2013 are fraudulent and the IRS is filing a lawsuit, that the call is being recorded. When I pressed for more information, the "supervisor" Officer Mark Jordan as he identified himself who spoke very little English used profanity and told me to F myself. I will report this to the IRS as well.
I had the same experience as Michele listed above, only "Mark" didn't use profanity, but he was definitely a bully. I was told I owed $4,500.73, and that I could go to prison for up to 10 years, have my license revoked, etc. He gave me the choice to see this through court or to settle out of court. I pushed for the reason why I had not received correspondence regarding the issue of the "audit" on my 2008-2013 tax returns. After returning numerous times to the reason I hadn't received correspondence, he finally ended the call. This makes me so angry and needs to somehow be stopped before they are able to contact someone who is elderly, fearful, and will pay out!
