Xurli actually is a legitimate company that has helped my small business grow. They don't "pretend" to update their listing, they DO! Just because they charge money, people think they are a scam. Is it a scam to pay an auto repair shop $40 to change your oil, even though you can do it yourself? No, because you're paying for a PROFESSIONAL to do it. Same with Xurli! Yes you can do it yourself, but a professional made listing is so much better.
“Caller ID said: UNKNOWN NAME. 360-203-7103. Recorded message said something about my Google AdWords account not being in compliance and to please stay on the line. This was possible because there was a SNAFU at the bank last week and Google took us offline for a few hours so I stayed on the line. A woman came on and asked if I was the business owner. I said yes, and she asked if I was [my husband's first name]. I said no and gave her my first name. She said she wanted to update our information and make sure everything was good on our account. I stopped her and asked who she was with (she hadn't said, they always make you think they're with Google) and she said "I'm with Xurli, we're a Google licensed partner." In the meantime I had Googled the phone number and I said from what I'm reading you are a telemarketer and I don't give information out to telemarketers. She said I'm with Xurli - I said I know, I was looking at it on my screen with a report of that company being a telemarketer, and she said no we are Xurli - X-U-R-L-I (we spelled it together), we're a Google licensed partner. Suddenly she was in a hurry to get off the phone. It changed to I've just looked at your account and everything seems to be in order.
SO we went from give me your information so I can be sure it's correct to everything looks great, have a nice day.
They may be a perfectly legit company, but I feel that like a million other companies out there, they don't make it clear that they AREN'T Google unless specifically asked. And I won't deal with cold callers. Had they really been with Google I would have been happy to. But I don't need a third party company involved in my business matters unless invited and sure as hell wish they would stop calling ALL the time. To my knowledge Xurli has not called my office before (and I've been keeping track for a long time) so my frustration isn't addressed to them specifically, but to ALL telemarketers -- the majority of which call about the Google AdWords campaign or merchant account services -- but the Xurli rep certainly made it sound as if they were a TRUE Google rep and if I hadn't known of all the companies out there representing themselves as such, I'd have thought she was directly from Google. WHY DO WE HAVE TO DEAL WITH THESE PEOPLE EVERY DAY??”
The recorded message said there was a flag on my google account, which made no sense. It also said they had made repeated attempts to reach me and that it was "urgent". I hung up.

The robot called again and gave the same BS -- it didn't specifically say OUR AdWords campaign was going to be removed, it said "Google is removing all non-compliant accounts" and to stay on the line. Well of course they are. Google has ALWAYS done that. This scam company wants you to think it's a new, urgent thing and you HAVE to call to bring your account into compliance. Xurli is just another of those strong arm companies that won't leave us alone. They continue to call and MISLEAD.
Christian, I'm happy they worked for you (if you don't work for THEM), but I already have a fantastic professional who does all my Google AdWords business and and has proven himself to be the best. He's local and I meet with him face to face. And once again -- I do NOT conduct business with cold calling telemarketers, especially ones who call and repeatedly interrupt my work day.
I'm not alone in this either. Read here: https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/webmasters/SX9RuhAXoQ8. Apparently XURLI RECORDS CALLS WITHOUT TELLING YOU THEY ARE DOING SO - that's illegal.
