They left a message saying they are the IRS and they are going to take me to court. I don't owe the IRS and they want me to call a particular number back. Nope...it's a scam

A scam no doubt. But why is no one interested in going after the scammer - since they left a call back numer?

Left message to call back. Did not identify themselves.

IRS scam

Kept calling on my home phone. Said there was an investigation and an error was found. I owed taxes from 2008 thru 2013 and there was a warrant out for my arrest.
Caller had heavy foreign accent but his name was John Smith.
