This is one of several numbers that can be traced back to a car warranty scam. If they call, and you answer, you'll get a recorded message prompting you to make some numerical choices. You'll eventually end up with a live person who will inform you that your manufacturer warranty or extended warranty on your car will expire in less than 5 day. They will then tell you that if you sent them a $500 or $1,000 payment, they'll be able to extend your warranty with no glitches. Ask them to provide any information about said car and they hang up. Ask them to remove you from their caller's list, which they have to do by law, and they'll turn rude and hang up. Good luck.
they call two of my three cell phone numbers regularly about an auto warranty. yesterday i started asking them questions about how they know my auto warranty is up if they don't know my name or what type of vehicle i own and the girl got defensive and hung up. today i played along and the woman told me that it's $2600+ to purchase their warranty and when i told her that it was pricey and i wasn't interested, she hung up quick with no goodbye or anything. i wonder how many people they scam with this. i'm sure it's an identity theft thing...
