I got the same thing (Repeatedly now) and the option to be removed from the list doesn't work. If you press 5 and listen, it then says that no valid response has been received. If that is the case there is no way to be removed from the call list. I filed a complaint on them today with the DNC registry (Which my number is on).
Received a call from this #, lady with a heavy accent says this is not a sales call. I stopped her and asked "so if it's not a sales call, then why are you calling me as I've never heard of your company?" She says "it's for a free quotation for auto insurance". I said I'm happy with my agent and won't be switching companies. When she tried to continue to persuade me to listen, I hung up. I try not to be rude as I was once in inside sales and know this is how they are earning a living. Just sad that they can't find work with a reputable company. Added this # to my auto reject list on my cell phone but I'm sure they will just use a different # the next time they call me!!
How is providing you with an insurance quote not a sales call? Lead generators are required to follow the same Telephone Sales Rules as those directly selling and and can be sues privately and fined by the FTC and FCC. Report all such calls as Do Not Call list violations. If you can get the name of the company, even better.
