This is a scam.These people are making the rounds calling everyone.These morons are not IRS.The real IRS will not contact you this way.These calls originate from India.Usually some person with an Indian accent will tell you they are an IRS officer,and they have filed a lawsuit on you for uncollected taxes.They give fake names and badge numbers,ie Officer Michael Brown.They will threaten do have you arrested,and even resort to abuse and foul language to try to get money out of you.
Unfortunately these scumbags are having some success in scamming money out of vulnerable people.Do not engage with these idiots.Block the number where possible,delete any messages.Do not call them back.You can also report them to the FTC.However government agencies seem very reluctant to deal with this problem.
