Got a text message from a (likely spoofed) e-mail account ([email protected]) on a government-issued cell phone stating:

Your MasterCard is now blocked! Please have your card in hand and call security staff immediately at: (360) 234-2053

Got a text on two different cell phones from this number. We don't own a mastercard. Pure scam. Bottom line is if you get a call from someone you don't know, more than likely it's a scam.

Got call too. Talked with MC and they were useless. Oh well guess it is up to the consumer to protect themselves.
