I get these a lot, mine came from Bob this time, the only difference is he did not say he was hearing impaired and did I take Credit cards, I normally just block any text to my phone for this type of request, if they ask if I take cc or if they text me in general. .
I can be found online like all of us, so if it is legit they will call then order. But ANY TEXT TO DO BUSINESS is a Credit Card Fraud Scam. Beware people. It is not worth it.
The first time I got one of these I bit like @T did, then he said he would pay me and "if I could pay his design artist out of the funds" RED FLAG!!. I laughed and told him sure right after I inform the authorities.
Received a text from this number to my Google Voice number, inquiring about website services. The person said he was "Ray Benson" and asked "kindly get back to me ASAP so i can send you the job details." Since website consulting is actually what I do, I attempted to reply with a phone call, even though it seemed really odd that the person texted me through *my* GV number. That number is not really floating around out there in public.
My phone call reached a recorded message saying the phone number was for texting only, and that I should text the person I was trying to reach. On the off chance this was a legitimate business call, I texted the guy. He replied with *another* number -- 872.216.3518 -- that he said was his "direct cell phone" but that I found was a GV number when I called and reached the generic GV message (the one that told me to state my name before it would put my call through). Definitely thinking not legit, and wondering why this guy would target me.
Guy answers and says he's "Ray Benson" in an accent so heavy I could barely understand him. Couldn't place the accent any closer than somewhere in the Middle East region. I went ahead and asked how I could help him, and as best as I could decipher he said something about a new business and possibly women and search engine rankings. Couldn't really understand much, to be honest. Told him it didn't sound like something I'd be interested in helping with & hung up. Blocked him on GV.
