Never gave a company name, but wanted to know if we met their criteria to consolidate our loans. My husband James said we did. Lance Berg said he would be our "qualifier" before he turned us over to an acct. rep or something like that. He said his ID # was B-4919, and what card did we want to start with. James said MC 5432 1098 7654 3210. This upset Lance who said that was incorrect and accused us of trying to waste his time----smart man, that is exactly what we were trying to do. Then he used a lot of foul language about what he would do to James's wife, mother, (then he said" oh, she is dead," which is true) the attorney general's mother etc, even tho James had mentioned no one else. James refused to be rattled and agreed with everything Lance said. James said he was bored and it was nice to have someone to talk to. Then Lance started talking about a Visa card, like he thought he had another "sucker" on the line and said we were protected by the American Protection Act. He then gave the last four digits of HIS??? social security # 3217. Not sure what he was saying---he had an accent. He eventually became very infuriated because he was failing to upset James.. and said he was going to get us, and did we see the black car sitting out front. James said no, he didn't. As a last resort Lance said we was going to call us from the neighbor's house (the id showed 417-445-7070, a disconnected #). We failed to pick up and you could hear the frustration in his voice on the answering machine. We wasted 16 minutes of his time and made him really angry WITHOUT SHOWING ANY ANGER AT THIS END. The only spooky thing is that he knew both of our first names ad our street address. I hope this is enough to get our # out of his robo call system.
This tactic is the ONLY one that has done anything to slow the frequency of scam calls. It is time consuming, but is preferable to answering at least one scam call a day like we were doing. Pushing a button to be taken off their list only make the calls more frequent.
Nice! :) Seriously, you should file reports, especially when they make threats. And you can get a call blocking device also to help with the calls like this. The T-lock Incoming PRO Call Blocker sells for under 60 bucks on Amazon and can block up to 1500 numbers.
Please do file reports with the FBI, your state attorney general and Department Of Justice,FTC & FCC..
