Got texted regarding a bank alert and that i should call that number and provide my account number. The funny thing is that i dont have an account with that bank.
I was just scammed by this. My son & I both got cell texts by non existent email account while we were still asleep. Called number, recorded message sad it was a fraud alert and requested info about our credit card - including pin number. Called the bank - their representative called the number given and informed us that it was not associated with our bank. Googled number and got this website. Our next step is to notify the FBI.
STOP DO NOT CALL THIS NUMBER. IT'S A SCAM THAT WILL COST YOU BIG DOLLARS.
Got this text saying it was important to call my bank. The text has the name of my bank so they have the info from somewhere.
I checked with my phone provider.
If you call them they will put you on hold. You need to press different signs and numbers to get you to the next person but it also give them permission to charge you $25 or more per minute. The number is going through to Canada the routed elsewhere.
The amount will appear on your bill and you phone carrier cannot help you dispute an AUTHORIZED PURCHASE IN ANOTHER COUNTRY!!!!
