I have read where others were telling people to use a whistle or airhorn. Pure stupidity. Others have posted what can happen when you peave off the scammers. They retaliate and spoof your number. Next time someone suggests the whistle or horn, ignore them. It isn't worth it. As Greg said "Just don't call them back".
A message was left on my answering machine -- a bad connection with a female voice stating that the ITS was starting a law suit against me and to access the case file I needed to call the number 360-450-5227. Needless to say, I did not call that number. It is important for folks to know that no government office - local or federal - will initiate a contact by phone; they only do it with a letter.
I am so glad to find this website as I was looking to find who had that number and learned that I was not alone in receiving the call.
Jennifer who also received the call and called the number, maybe should change her phone number because the call was very likely from a robo-calling system to learn what numbers were good for future use. I don't really know, but certainly the number should be considered highly suspicious.
